Our Recent Initiatives

  • 2011
In September, the Space Security Index published its 8th annual report, Space Security 2011. The project, managed by Program Officer Cesar Jaramillo, aims to improve transparency with respect to space activities and to support the development of national and international policies that contribute to space security.
In April, Project Ploughshares sponsored the expert seminar “Toward a Nuclear Weapons Convention: A Role for Canada." Held in Ottawa, April 11 and 12, the seminar included participants from the academic community and civil society, as well as diplomats, parliamentarians, and government officials. The discussions addressed a broad range of legal, political, security, and verification requirements for progress toward a global legal ban on nuclear weapons. In August, Ploughshares published a report on the seminar.
