Planned
Giving: A Legacy for Peace
The miracle of peace breaks into a troubled
world, not as a random or arbitrary piece of good luck, but as the
fruit of the labours of those who refuse to surrender to the darkness
of war. Working together, we can be part of the slowly spreading light
of peace.
Each year the gifts of thousands of Canadians support
the program of Project Ploughshares. Without such generous support
our work could not continue.
Peacemaking is a long-term process. The future of
Project Ploughshares depends on adequate resources to carry on its
vital work for peace. A planned gift is a way of perpetuating your
support for Project Ploughshares and its peace and reconciliation
programs into the future. A planned gift may be an outright gift
that provides current support or it may be a deferred gift that
is arranged now but provides support at a future time. It can
be a gift of stock, life
insurance, or a bequest.
Planned gifts to Project Ploughshares are segregated
into the Future Fund, a Fund established by the board
of Project Ploughshares to provide revenue for programs through
the interest earned by the Fund. As it grows through the addition of gifts and bequests, the Future Fund will provide increasing income for programs while conserving the principal.
You can make a significant contribution to the long-term
peacebuilding work of Project Ploughshares by making a planned gift.
We would be pleased to work with you and your financial advisors
to set up a planned gift that is right for you. Thank you.
